County Prosecutors Endorse Bob Peterson for Congress

(OH-15) – Bolstering his conservative credentials as a champion of law and order, State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced today that several highly-respected current and former county prosecutors in the 15th congressional district have endorsed his campaign for Congress.

Clinton County Prosecuting Attorney Andrew McCoy, Fayette County Prosecuting Attorney Jess Weade, Pickaway County Prosecuting Attorney Judy Wolford, and Ross County Prosecuting Attorney Jeff Marks, along with former Pickaway County prosecutor and Southern Ohio legal expert Bill Harsha, enthusiastically endorsed Peterson, praising his "exemplary job in representing the interests of criminal justice, law enforcement, and Ohio’s prosecuting attorneys at the Ohio Statehouse.” The prosecutors added that Peterson “will be a commonsense advocate for traditional values in Congress.”

Speaking on behalf of the joint endorsement, Fayette County Prosecutor Jess Weade said, "I have known Bob since I was approximately 12 years old, when he was buying livestock at the county fair as a county commissioner. I have had the opportunity to work with Bob on a professional level as a private attorney and as a prosecutor discussing matters with my state representative and state senator. I would be proud to call him my congressman."

Throughout Peterson’s legislative career, he’s been a reliable advocate for Ohio’s law enforcement community, working to give them the tools and resources they need to keep our communities safe. Among his accomplishments, Peterson played a key role in passing new laws to crack down on drug trafficking, murder, and sexual abuse. He also worked with prosecutors to improve the judicial process and help them more effectively prosecute dangerous criminals.

“We are a nation of law and order, and I’ll always stand with our honorable law enforcement community every day to help them keep our communities safe and ensure liberty and justice for all,” said Senator Peterson. “I’ll be an advocate in Congress for our men and women in uniform, and I’ll oppose efforts by the radical left to defund our police and destroy our communities through chaos and anarchy."

Peterson has been endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police in his past elections.
