(OH-15) – State Senator and congressional candidate Bob Peterson (R-Sabina) announced today that longtime Ohio Farm Bureau leader Jack Fisher will head up a grassroots Farmers for Peterson coalition consisting of hundreds of local farmers with a chairman in each county of OH-15.
Fisher served for 20 years as executive vice president of the farm bureau and previously worked in key leadership positions at the Ohio Department of Agriculture. He will chair a 12-county team of agricultural leaders focused on mobilizing support and turning out votes for Peterson in the August 3rd special congressional primary election. The coalition has already engaged hundreds of people throughout the district.
"Bob is absolutely the right person and the best candidate to represent us in Congress," said Fisher, a member of the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame and the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame. "He's a farmer, not a follower, and that's exactly the kind of work ethic and leadership we need to stand up to Nancy Pelosi and the radical Biden agenda in Washington. He also knows better than anyone that the 15th district is one of the top farming districts in the state, and our farmers need his experience on a wide variety of federal issues that impact their livelihoods."
Peterson, who served for nearly five years as president of the Ohio Farm Bureau, thanked Fisher for his support and leadership of the coalition, adding, "Jack is one of the most respected ag leaders in Ohio, and it's an honor to have him working on our behalf to mobilize the 15th district's farming community. The food and agriculture industry employs one in eight Ohioans and contributes $124 billion annually to Ohio's economy. It reaches everything from trade policy and tariffs to border security and inflation. As a farmer myself, I'll be a reliable advocate for this critical industry in Congress."
At the invitation of the White House, Senator Peterson joined President Trump in 2018 for the signing of the historic United States-Mexico-Canada trade agreement, which broke down trade barriers and opened export opportunities for farmers and ranchers nationwide.
In addition to the new Farmers for Peterson coalition, the Peterson campaign has won more than 150 endorsements from local leaders, including former members of Congress who previously represented portions of the district, as well as current and former state senators, state representatives, countywide officeholders, law enforcement officials, mayors, city council members, township trustees, school board members and Republican Party leaders.
More endorsements by local leaders will be announced soon. To view the current list, visit BobPetersonforCongress.com/endorsements.
